Consultation on settlement boundaries.
Hilperton will be part of this programme.
As part of the process of getting its Core Strategy approved by the planning inspector, Wiltshire Council is looking at the boundaries around towns and large villages. This is just one of the tasks the council was told to do by the government inspector following the recent Inquiry into the plan. The consultation will run from July 28th to September 22nd.Settlement boundaries, or policy limits, are lines drawn around towns and most villages, with the presumption that new housing will normally be allowed within the line, but not outside it.Parish and Town Councils will be sent an information pack regarding the review of settlement boundaries in relation to their area. The packs will provide details of existing and proposed revisions to boundaries.Myself and representatives from Hilperton Parish Council will be attending a briefing session on the 30th July.I am sure that it must be an unfortunate coincidence that this consultation is taking place during the school holidays and when most parish councils have their summer break.
