Where did everyone come from?

Hilperton did the Friends Life Tour of Britain proud today.

The whole of the route through the parish was lined with people (both adults and school children). It was a site to behold with all the Union flags fluttering.

It shows how professional cycling has got its act together being able to generate so much interest.

The last time the race came through Hilperton (many, many years ago and possibly called The Milk Race) I think I was the only person stood outside the Lion & Fiddle to see the cyclists come along Devizes Road (when it was still the A361), turn right into Church Street and disappear off to Brassknocker Hill! How times have changed - for the better.
