The 'mud' saga continues.
WC sees no urgency but why use the B3105 in the first place?
I have received a reply from WC regarding the mud being dropped through the village and have responded.'Dear Cllr Clark,I have discussed the matter with Kenny Construction but the project manager is away until Monday, however the person I spoke to has made sure that the road sweeper is now back on site and will clean both entrances. The construction company are waiting for the bond to be delivered and once that is in then the wheel wash facility will be installed. I have requested that the project manager calls me first thing Monday morning with a date for the bond delivery failing which I will insist that the wheel wash facility be installed immediately.Kind regards,****** *******
Planning Enforcement Officer.'My reply:-
Hi,When you speak to the project manager on Monday, could you also ask him why he is ignoring the undertaking given by Persimmon that ‘....construction traffic will be routed so as to avoid sensitive areas which will include the B3105 through Hilperton village....’ i.e. none of the construction lorries should be going through the village in the first place let alone dropping mud as they do so.For your information, the undertaking is in volume one of the Environmental Statement dated July 2004 section 18.5.63.I realise that this will add considerable time/fuel usage/pollution for the trips to land fill (or whatever) but such is life and my primary consideration in this issue is the welfare of the residents of Hilperton.'I have also reported this to our local police officer as I'm informed that carrying mud onto the public hihgway is contrary to the Road Traffic Act.
