WWDC budget, what The Wiltshire Times thinks.
Today's issue has an interesting article on the proposed budget.
On page six of today's issue Ms. Blake questions several aspects of Cllr. Content's first budget as Leader of WWDC.
I won't quote any of it as I would probably be infringing copyright, but it makes very interesting reading especially as WWDC has had a more generous settlement from the Government than expected.
I wait to see whether the Labour and WWI groups continue to prop-up this failing administration whose very pretext for existence looks increasingly flimsy.
Cast adrift, the Lib Dems would be a true minority administration and would have to modify their seemingly right wing slash-and-burn budget policy.
Whose interest do the two supporting groups put first? The people of West Wiltshire, or their own political ambitions? Bearing in mind that famous comment by Labour's Tony Banks, when he described the Lib Dems as " Woolly-hatted, muesli-eating Tory lickspittles", I find it amazing that the Labour group are prepared to be identified with such sweeping budget cuts. Still, such, or so it would seem, is life in local politics.
