My December e-newsletter.
Wiltshire Council news from Ernie Clark.
The process of the Local Governance Review (which could see about 200 homes on Paxcroft Mead being transferred to Trowbridge civil parish) is gathering pace. A meeting of the WC working group, Trowbridge Town Council and Hilperton Parish Council will be held in early December. When any proposals go out for public consultation, I will ensure that all affected homes receive notification. The building of the Hilperton Relief Road (HRR) continues with various problems ranging from mud being carried onto the public highway, through the intention of WC to re-write the speed limit condition, to other conditions such as that for the two zebra crossings.Despite the HRR being due to open quite soon, Church Street will be closed to all through traffic from 19th January for gas main replacement work. The work might take until mid March and First Bus is looking at the best way to keep a service for as much of the village as possible. The consultation on the revised parking restrictions has now closed and I am waiting to hear from Wiltshire Council what the various responses were. Finally, may I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with the hope that 2015 is rather more peaceful than 2014 has proved to be.
