The 'metro count' result is back from the police.

Their decision is 'No further action'.  A full explanation is below.

'11/02/2015. 12:57:09.

Metro count result below - no further action can be taken under the community speedwatch model.

Metro Count Speed Survey Result Leap Gate, Hilperton (40 mph Speed Limit).  The results of the survey for the area of Leap Gate are provided below.

The survey was carried out between 22/01/2015 and 29/01/2015. A total of 22,832 vehicles were checked.

The 85th percentile was 40.7mph (the 85th percentile is the speed at which 85% of the traffic is travelling at or below).

For your information the thresholds for interventions are as follows.  In 40mph speed limit the following criteria will be applied.  40 to 45.9 mph 85th percentile = No Further Action (NFA).   46 to 48.9 mph 85th percentile = eligible for Community Speed Watch.'

As an aside, looking at the number of vehicles, nearly 23 thousand, it will be interesting to see how many that increases by  when Soprano Way and the Hilperton Relief Road open.
