Residents have a few days to comment on proposed changes to the published parking restrictions. Please let me have your thoughts by Friday morning.
The changes are as follows. I can email you hard copies if you get in touch at ernie.clark@wiltshire.gov.uk
Devizes Road
Since reviewing the comments raised during the consultation and further investigation on site, it is considered that the existing parking on the north side of Devizes Road opposite the Ashton Road junction can remain, acting as a further traffic calming feature and to maintain parking availability for residents on Devizes Road.
Hackett Place
On reviewing the comments made, it is considered that the proposals could be reduced so that residents are not adversely effected, and that parents can still park in order to drop off and pick up their children from The Mead School, but not at the determent to highway safety, therefore the proposals at key areas to protect junctions, accesses and traffic calming should remain.
The three other Hilperton schemes (Church Street, Hill Street and Greenhill Gardens) will remain as advertised.
Ironically these schemes, some of which have been on the drawing board for about six years (!) will probably have to be looked at again when the Hilperon Relief Road opens in a few months time...
