Planning committee 'Yes' to Peter Black site.
The Western Area Planning Committee of WC met earlier today.
The only agenda item was the derelict 'Peter Black' site opposite Tesco on County Way.
The committee agreed in a unanimous vote to approve the application but with a request to the case officer that a condition be included to provide free parking in the final approval document. This would be in line with the planning conditions for both the Tesco and Sainsburys sites.
Plans to demolish the eyesore and redevelop the site at Cradle Bridge were submitted by property consultants JLL on behalf of MRMU and King Developments in January.
Peter Black Toiletries closed in 2002 and the site has been derelict ever since, but the application will see it transformed into four shops with 150 car park spaces.
The developer has already confirmed that two of the units will be taken by M&S Simply Food and a Toby Carvery.
