Yet another irate resident vents his bile about WCC.

Do you ever feel like you are banging your head against a wall….. that’s how I feel….

I have spent several days at home in the last few weeks and have made a mental note of the speeding & chaotic traffic along Devizes Road in both directions. Between the hours of 8.30ish and 9.00ish and again from 3 – 4pm and then 5 till 6.30pm it is almost like a bumper car ride…. Cars all over the place, taking short cuts to miss traffic jams, mums taking kids home using the road as a short cut, white van man driving like a F1 test driver, and don’t forget the local gas and water van man "he owns the roads"…….

I walk my children part way to Hilperton Primary School and am amazed at the VOLUME OF TRAFFIC USING THE ROAD AS A RAT RUN & test track for Goodyear tyres……

I have spoken to WCC and they are as helpful as BIRD FLU in an aviary……. I have been told that on conducting traffic speed surveys they found NO problem……. Were they doing this on a Sunday afternoon I ask myself???

Should I get myself a nice WIDE flatbed van and park it how the hell I like out the front of my house?? I bet the police would be at my house in less than an hour and I would be prosecuted for obstructing a public highway!!

If the police won’t do anything and the council are too busy destroying the area we live in by building homes and pubs in areas that should be left well alone I feel like I have had enough of Hilperton……

1) SPEED BUMPS – SORRY DON’T WORK , THE FASTER YOU GO THE SMOOTHER the ride…..

2) SPEED TRAPS – SORRY DON’T WORK, YOU CAN SEE THE IDIOTS FROM A MILE AWAY….+ THEY ONLY EVER TURN UP ON A SUNDAY…..

3) LET A CHILD GET KILLED – MAYBE THAT’S A GOOD IDEA, THEN THEY MAY DO SOMETHING, or maybe not….

4) Close Devizes Road half way up- GREAT IDEA!!! NO more cars using the road as a rat run…

5) cover the road in Cotswold stone chippings – nice but not a real solution.

I would like to point out that there is a BYPASS!! Why don’t the little bast**ds use it? I'll tell you why.. Because the volume of traffic trying to get into Trowbridge is so vast that you can sit on the bypass between the Budgens roundabout and the one by Fieldways for over 6 minutes in a jam… I know I have done it on several occasions…. Some prize twonk in the road planning dept needs a boot up the bum!!!!

With more New homes being built & planned this problem is just going to get worse and worse and worse……….

Can we have some real solutions to this REAL problem before a kid gets KILLED!!!!!!"
