The Cabinet member has finally made a decision and it is...for 50mph through the Gap.
I am in the process of getting the decision called-in for further scrutiny but, to be honest, this is a long-shot. However, grasping any straw is better than doing nothing.
The full Wiltshire Council meets on Tuesday at County Hall and a 'show of strength' is being organised re the speed limit and the apparent wish of the WC spatial planners to build in the Gap within the next year or two. If you can spare an hour please muster outside County Hall in Bythesea Road just before 10.00.
One concession that has been made re the speed limit is that a short length of Soprano Way (the extension of Leapgate) will be restricted to 30mph. As this will obviously impact on the wish of WC to have this road and the HRR as a high speed east of Trowbridge by-pass I can't help but wonder why the '50mph' dogma is so ingrained.
