Hopefully not a recipe for disaster...
Next Monday (20th July) will see major road works in the village.
Church Street (the B3105) will be closed to all through traffic for 40 days. This will obviously have an impact on buses.
In addition, Wyke Road will be closed from the same date for 20 days between Horse Road and Victoria Road! As this isn't in Hilperton Division, I will admit to not knowing about this until a day or two ago...
It's a shame that the Church Strret works couldn't wait until the HRR is open as it would cut-down on delays plus it would have got 'through traffic' into the habit of using the new road. However, having delayed the work once, Wales & West Utilities could delay no longer and, to be honest, most people expected the HRR to be open by now! The latest date given to me is now the end of September - it keeps being put back but please don't ask me why.
