Friday October 09, 2015 Bus service during Church Street closure.

I have received the following info from WC...

'Due to the location of the closure, Faresaver bus service X34 will operate via Elizabeth Way and then do a clockwise loop of Hammond Way, Marsh Road and Horse Road before continuing its normal route in to town.

Regretfully, it will therefore not be possible for any bus services to serve Hill Street/Greenhill Gardens (The Gifford’s’).

Passengers for this area will need to make their own way to Horse Road to collect bus X34. Previously, WC had persuaded Firstbus to serve this area with the town bus, turning at Greenhill Gardens but this bus no longer operates and it is now only Faresaver’s Bus X34 in this area and this timetable is already tight and cannot afford the time to extend to Greenhill Gardens and turn.

Passengers living on the Church Street/Trowbridge Road side of Hilperton will need to catch buses from either Fieldways (bus 49 in to Town) or Paxcroft Mead bus stops for X34/49.

Notices for bus stops will be erected around Hilperton before the commencement of these works.

Of course, all of the above is dependent on Elizabeth Way opening before the closure begins – if it isn’t open, then ther is a major a problem!'
