Hilperton needs you - TONIGHT.
The parish council has agreed to fund the process to get a Neighbourhood Plan adopted. The meeting to gauge support is this evening at the village hall commencing at 8.00pm.
This is NOT a Wiltshire Council or Parish Council scheme. It is part of the government's 'localism' idea and MUST be led by the public. Councils and councillors must NOT be the driving force behind it.
It will include topics such as roads & transport, housing & leisure, schools & healthcare, environment, local amenities, and business.
When formally adopted it will have 'full weight' on planning matters and Wiltshire Council planners will have to work with it when deciding any planning applications for the location of new housing etc.
This is a vital document for the future of the Hilperton area but, if little support is shown for it this evening, it might not even get off the starting blocks.
