Lib Dem Duncan Hames has called it a day as a cabinet member.
This resignation comes less than five months after the previous resignation (who also happened to be a Lib Dem) from Sarah's cabinet. The cabinet has now shrunk to seven members (which at least saves on the number of allowances being paid at £3,750 per head) and it will be interesting to see whether Sarah brings in new blood, or redistributes Cllr. Hames' duties.

Out of devilment, one wonders why Duncan has resigned just before the annual meeting of the council and prior to the Scrutiny Committee looking at the actions of the cabinet over the PFI scheme. Of course, it could simply be that the 'extended period of time' mentioned in Duncan's resignation letter was always intended to be under one year.
