Could Wiltshire Council move any slower?
After only a year and bit delay (!) something is finally stirring at County Hall.
Owing to 'capacity issues' (i.e. a lack of staff) the progress of the double yellow lines for Hilperton has taken an age to progress. In fact, I actually feel sorry for the officer I have been chasing. Ironically, some of the planned lines are probably not now needed as the relief road is open.
Anyway, there is now a proposed Cabinet Member’s delegated decision (HT-05-16 WEST WILTSHIRE PARISHES ORDER: PROPOSED WAITING RESTRICTIONS) which should be formalised soon after 15th February 2016 following consideration of any responses from councillors.
Once the decision has formally been made, Wiltshire Council can then apply for the Traffic Regulation Order. When this has been granted a job sheet can then be raised for the road lining crew to actually put some paint on the road.
So, all being well, the lines should be in place in the next few months. Bearing in mind that this process started back in August 2013 (!) this must surely be a record for even WC...
