Just how greedy are the developers? 'Very' would seem to be the answer.

The lie to so-called 'consultations' for planning applications is laid bare.

With over a week to go before their sham consultation, the outline planning application was registered with WC last Friday!  The application is actually dated 22nd January for being loaded onto the WC system and it shows that pre-application advice was sought from WC.  The 'Chinese walls' at County Hall must work very well as, when I spoke to a senior spatial planning officer last week, s/he claimed no knowledge of any application.

It is reference 16/00672 and the details state

Proposed development comprising up to 210 new homes with access from the newly constructed relief road, new open space and associated infrastructure. (Outline application relating to access)

So it would seem that HGT Developments Llp is not going to let the grass grow under their feet - quite literally!

I have 'called in' the application if the case officer is minded to permit.  She can refuse it but any permission would have to come from a planning committee.

Let's hope that WC isn't using this as a convenient way to dig themselves out of the hole they have got themselves into with the seeming abject failure of the Core Strategy.  Will heads roll?  I doubt it.....
