New WWDC representatives.
Following the annual meeting several changes can be seen.
When Tony Phillips was the leader at WWDC these appointments were made from across all the political groups, and based on ability and experience.
At the meeting last week it soon became obvious that this was not to be the case under Cllr. Content. It was so obvious that 'the whip' was being rigidly enforced that, after the first few votes, every Conservative applicant for a post withdrew from the process as they realised that it was a waste of time going to the vote.
Quite what benefit the people of West Wiltshire will get from this decision to politicize 90% of these appointments is unclear to me. What it does do though, is make me ever more certain that party politics should have no place at a local level.
