Are you thinking of buying a brand new house?
Or a 'pre-owned' one on a new development?
If you are, be aware...
...that Wiltshire Council might not be going to adopt your road or any open spaces.
Instead, you will be signed up to an agreement (costing you perhaps £1k, or more, a year) with the developer for a number of years after which the maintenance contract will go out to tender.
You will, of course, still pay your council tax in addition to this 'hidden' charge.
Make sure you get your solicitor to investigate this issue and for them to confirm to you, in writing, their findings.
Yet another nice little earner for the developers....
