In case you didn’t know, a planning application has been submitted for housing in the Hilperton Gap.
The planning reference at Wiltshire Council is 16/00672 and it is vital that as many people as possible send their comments to WC before the closing date of Friday 11th March.
Whilst all comments will be considered, those quoting WC planning policies will have more credence. There are several articles on my web site which could point you in the right direction.
The application really only has any chance of success due to the failure of part of the Wiltshire Core Strategy, which was adopted only twelve months ago. Questions need to be asked of the WC spatial planning team and the Cabinet member why such a catastrophic failure has occurred and will anyone be dismissed or resign as a result. My guess is ‘No’ as everyone will close ranks and throw their hands in the air blaming the Planning Inspectorate. ‘Teflon government’ at its best!
Those of you who attended the (so called) exhibition at Fieldways probably have your own opinion of the quality of the display boards and the ability (or rather the lack of ability) of the staff to answer anything but the most mundane questions.
Also, how can the applicant’s flood assessment show the area as being ‘Zone 1’? This is the least likely sort of land to flood!! WC classes it as ‘Zone 3’ which is rather more realistic.
