Wiltshire Council Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Temporary Closure of: A361 (Part), Hilperton and Semington (Ref: TTRO 4437)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A361 (Part), Hilperton and Semington; from Paxcroft roundabout to Littleton roundabout.

To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing / patching, road marking and adjustment of ironworks.

Alternative route: via – A361 (unaffected length) – A363 – A350 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 23 September 2016 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 4 October 2016. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

The official diversion route goes via Yarnbrook (!) but I'm sure that locals will know a much shorter route.

I first brought the state of this road to the attention of WC highways only a year or so ago and so this is actually a very prompt reaction but, let's face it, the road is in a pretty shocking state especially if you cycle along it.

01/09/16 UPDATE.

I have now been told that the works will be completed from Monday 26th September to Friday 30th September between 07:00 and 19:00. At present no weekend works are programmed.
