Your Independent councillor for Hilperton.

The ‘Housing Needs Survey’ (part of the Neighbourhood Development Plan process) will be distributed in early October with everyone having five weeks to complete it. The NDP team will be seeking volunteers to help speed the distribution.

Advance notice that the A361 is going to be closed between Hilperton and Semington from the ‘rugby club’ roundabout to Littleton roundabout (the junction of the A361 and A350) to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing / patching, road marking and adjustment of ironworks. Access to businesses such as the crematorium will still be possible but delays will be inevitable. The closure will start on 23 September 2016 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 4 October.

The roundabouts on Elizabeth Way have finally received some attention but it is a shame that it took so much effort to get WC and Persimmon off their backsides.

As a follow-up the following has come from a WC planning team leader. "As an update I spoke with Persimmon regarding the landscaping of the roundabout at the junction of Wyke Road and Horse Road when I was at a meeting with them on another site. Persimmon are (sic) going to liaise with their maintenance/landscaping crew to visit the sites in question and where necessary ensure that the landscaping scheme has been implemented in accordance with the approved plans and where it hasn't plant what was agreed. I also said that the sites do need tidying up. I will await their response and let you know once I know anything further."

The road has been open for nearly a year now and for WC not to have enforced the planting requirements defies belief.
