Hot on the heels of Wiltshire Council leader Lady Jane Scott (ab)using her position in The House of Lords to suggest that the recent fire service merger should be unwound, Lord Borwick, a property developer, has raised the issue of Greater Crested Newts being moved onto building sites to derail potential developments.
Under current law it is illegal to catch, possess, or handle GCN without a licence or to cause them harm or disturb their habitat in any way - thus making them a thorn in the side of developers.
