Is this why 'target' dates are regularly missed?
'Target' dates come, 'target' dates go...
On the 12th July, the cabinet member for Strategic Planning (Cllr. Toby Sturgis) answered my question at full council regarding when the 2016 five year housing land supply figure for this area would be announced by saying that 'Last year this was achieved towards end of September 2016 (sic) and it is expected that we will be able to achieve a similar timeline this year.'
So, here we are just about at the end of October and, guess what, no land supply figures.
Back in March this year I asked him when would the Trowbridge Development Plan Document be ready for public consultation? His answer 'The timetable for the preparation of the Wiltshire Housing Site Allocation Plan, which will consider the allocation of sites at Trowbridge, has recently been revised and the draft Plan will be publically available in September for consideration by Cabinet, followed by Council. The Plan will, subject to approval, be published for consultation in October 2016.'
Again, here we are at the end of October and is this draft Plan publically available yet? Not to my knowledge it isn't. Has it been published for consultation this month? Again, to my knowledge, the answer is a resounding 'No'.
If these issues were not so serious, you could almost laugh at the inability of the Conservatives to get these documents published on time...
Roll on next May when the public will be able to let Jane Scott know what they think of her administration of the county.
