Hilperton Gap Road, East of Trowbridge etc. update
The latest position concerning 'The Hilperton Relief Road' etc.
"The S106 Agreement for East of Trowbridge is still being drafted. We are on the 4th version and nearly there. The hold up has been mainly to do with the affordable housing and the open book exercise submitted by the developers. Once we have an agreed version we are bound to take the draft back to the Planning Committee for vetting as per the resolution.
The S106 for the Hilperton Relief Road (HRR) is, I understand, almost completed. That is we are happy with it and waiting for County and the developers to sign up. There has been some discussion about possible contributions from other residential developments allocated in the Local Plan for the Trowbridge area which has caused some difficulties and hold ups.
My understanding is that Persimmon would use East of Trowbridge to fund the HRR. Once the HRR S106 agreement is signed, that permission can be issued. However, because of the wording in the Local Plan policy, the East of Trowbridge decision cannot be issued until both the S106 is signed and the HRR permission has been issued.
I have not heard any rumours about Persimmon's non intentions in the future."
