...met this Thursday.

The CATG meets several times a year to look at transport issues within the area covered by the Trowbridge Area Board.

Several items relating to Hilperton were discussed.  In no particular order they were:-

Traffic volume/speed along the A361, B3105 (Elizabeth Way and Leapgate) and through the village.  This comprehensive survey will be undertaken early this year (probably April/May time) to assess the effect of the opening of Elizabeth Way and the extension of Leapgate on the type of traffic, the amount of traffic and the speed it travels at.

Funding was agreed for a survey to assess the use of the 'splitter island' on Hilperton Drive near its junction with Helpswell Road.  If there is sufficient use, consideration would be given to installing some type of formal pedestrian crossing.

There are also two Hilperton schemes listed for potential surfacing during the 2017/18 financial year.  They are the completion of the surface dressing on the A361 between Paxcroft and Semington, and the oft deferred surfacing of Marsh Road, Hill Street, and Curch Street.  This scheme has been 'on the books' for a couple of years and it would be good to see it finally undertaken.  I believe that the pavements would be surfaced at the same time.

Amended road name signs into Newleaze/Mashmead from Hill Street showing that it is a No Through Road.
