In six weeks time (ish) nominations will open for the parish and town council elections.
If you are one of the unlucky households being forced to move into Trowbridge parish, there will be an increase of about £100 a year for a Band D house due to the obscene council tax set by Lib Dem controlled Trowbridge Town Council.
Can the fact that the town council is controlled by the Lib Dems have anything to do with the disgraceful (in my opinion) voting pattern of the Lib Dem councillors on Wiltshire Council last July? I would guess that any fair minded person would say 'Yes'. Time for a change of control at the Town Hall?
If you are one of the approx. 800 people being forced to transfer from Hilperton or West Ashton into Trowbridge why not take some direct action?
Parish/town councils usually have very low turnouts (in 2013 Paxcroft Ward managed only 854 votes (29% turnout) whilst Park Ward fared even worse with 852 (25%)).
Certainly on Paxcroft Mead, it would seem that the number of residents being transferred could swing the three seats away from the Lib Dems if the residents get themselves organized. It costs nothing to stand for election and no party affiliation is required if you stand as an Independent.
