The 'Semington Turnpike' is scheduled for another closure.

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Temporary Closure of: A361 (Part) Paxcroft / Devizes Road, Hilperton and Semington (Ref: TTRO 4694)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A361 (Part) Paxcroft / Devizes Road, Hilperton and Semington; from Paxcroft roundabout to Semington roundabout.

To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction work, surface dressing and road markings.

The official alternative route is: via A361 (unaffected length) – A363 – A350 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.  Locals will know a much shorter route but, no doubt, queues will form at Stoney Gutter.

It is anticipated that the road will be closed on the following dates:

Monday 24 April to Thursday 27 April between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30.

Tuesday 2 May between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
