WWDC welcomes end to industrial action.
A meeting of the workforce yesterday (Thursday) resulted in a vote in favour of accepting the package of improved pay and conditions put forward by Cleanaway.

Councillor Rosemary Brown, the Council’s environment portfolio holder, said: “We are obviously very relieved that the two sides in this dispute have finally reached agreement. It will take a few days for collections to return to normal, as we still have some catching up to do, but there will be a number of crews working across the district on Saturday to help with that process. It is my hope that things should be completely back on track early next week, and my thanks go to all of our customers for bearing with us during this difficult time.”

Customers who have bins that should have been emptied earlier this week are advised to leave them at the kerbside as collections should be carried out in the next few days. Grey and green bins should be put out in line with the normal collection schedule from Monday.
