Your Independent councillor for Hilperton – NOT Hilpertown.
Congratulations to the editor of the Hilperton & Staverton Village News for the very clever cover last month. I am sure that this will be the only time I am in Mrs. May’s thoughts!!
Congratulations also to the three candidates for Westminster. A mixed result but Michelle Donelan remains our MP for the next five years – or perhaps a shorter period?
The Wiltshire Council draft Development Plan Document is finally in the public realm. If you have internet access do please check this document out. http://cms.wiltshire.gov.uk/mgAi.aspx?ID=66252#mgDocuments will take you to the necessary WC web site page. Items 1k and 18 relate to Hilperton.
The consultation period starts on 10th July and runs for ten weeks. More info next month.
As expected it is bad news for the Gap where WC wishes to see all the land on the Trowbridge side of the HRR built on. However, it is ‘only’ targeted for about 200 houses due to various attenuation and ecology issues. IF this goes ahead what a waste of land. If you do have to build on green fields at least aim for a sensible density. The revised Settlement Boundary forms part of the DPD but has few surprises.
THERE WILL BE AN EXHIBITION IN TROWBRIDGE, PROBABLY AT COUNTY HALL, ON 26th JULY BETWEEN 12.00 AND 7.00pm.
The results for the first traffic survey appear to have gone awry in some way, hence, as I understand, the second set of metro count ‘rubber strips’ which appeared this month.
