Hilperton relief road update.
There seems to be some confusion about The Gap road.
As with all things legal, the situation is far from simple. However, a very basic summary is as follows.
a) Formal planning permission has now been granted and is valid for work to start within five years.
b) The construction of the road is tied-in with the building of the East of Trowbridge (EoT)development (which is planned to 'join' Paxcroft Mead to West Ashton Road).
c) Also tied in with EoT is the extension of Leapgate making it a through road between West Ashton Road and Hilperton Drive (and ultimately The Gap road to Staverton).
d) Due to the various legal agreements etc., I will be surprised if any 'serious' work commences on The Gap road before 2008.
