News from County Hall and locally.

Wiltshire Council news from Ernie Clark. Your Independent councillor for Hilperton.

I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and new year.

The 2018/19 budget is being set at County Hall but delays in government funding information is holding things up. Hilperton Parish Council has set its precept for 2018/19 and decided that it did not need to increase its take from tax payers – this is the third successive year it has not increased its precept. Those of you living in Trowbridge parish were not so fortunate with a 3% rise coming your way. A Band D property in Hilperton will pay £14.28 a year whilst the Trowbridge figure is £148.99.

The Regulation 16 consultation period for the Hilperton Neighbourhood Development Plan is open until the 2nd February and this is the last chance for comment before it goes before a Planning Inspector. Comments can be made via the WC consultation portal, by email to neighbourhoodplanning@wiltshire.gov.uk or by post to Spatial Planning Economic Development and Planning County Hall Bythesea Road Trowbridge Wiltshire BA14 8JN.

The Police & Crime Commissioner is also having a consultation which runs to midday 31st January. He wants to hear your views on a proposed increase of £1 a month to preserve front-line policing.
