An application on the edge of the old 'boundary' of Hilperton Parish has been refused by WC planning officers.
Application 16/04468/OUT is for land to the south-west of Ashton Road.
The proposal was an outline planning application in Steeple Ashton parish for residential development of up to 250 dwellings, open space, landscaping, drainage features and associated infrastructure with all matters reserved, except access.
Both Steeple Ashton PC and Trowbridge TC supported an idea that the land would be transferred from Steeple Ashton parish into Trowbridge, but that the town council would then 'gift' all the CIL funds from the development back to Steeple Ashton PC (which supported the plans). Rather an odd scenario but it might explain why SAPC were happy for so many houses to be built outside any policy limit (theirs or Trowbridge's).
