Smoking ban under consideration.
W WDC may ban smoking in children's play areas.
It was decided that council officers should investigate the legal and practical implications as soon as possible.
If there are no major hurdles to be overcome the ban is likely to be introduced next year.
As well as health implications, smoking by parents and others in play areas sets a bad example to children and also generates unsightly litter.
