Tyres dumped in Whaddon Lane.
Within the last two weeks, piles of car tyres have been dumped at Whaddon Lane, Hilperton and near Bradford on Avon Rugby Club in Winsley. In addition, several car radiators were left in Green Lane, Trowbridge on 14 December.

The cost to the authority to remove the tyres was in excess of £1,500, with ten staff involved over a four hour period, while removing the radiators cost about £100. Officers are now keen to trace where the various loads came from.

Environmental enforcement officer Steve Williams said: “There is no excuse for commercial fly-tipping like this, as businesses have a clear duty of care to dispose of their rubbish in a responsible manner. If we can identify where these car parts came from, we will prosecute and the courts can impose a fine of up to £20,000.”

The Council would particularly like to hear from anyone who:

- Saw vehicles loaded with tyres in these locations in the last two weeks

- Has hired a contractor to get rid of quantities of tyres or car radiators in recent weeks

- Has any other information about these incidents
