Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

The controversial proposals for West Wiltshire are to do ahead.
One modification, proposed by both Hilperton and Staverton parish councils, was accepted; this was that the new ward should be titled 'Avonside' rather than 'Holt & Hilperton'.

Accordingly both Paxcroft and Holt wards will disappear from the May elections.

Broughton Gifford, Hilperton, Holt and Staverton will form the new Avonside ward (which will elect three councillors) whilst Semington will re-join Steeple Ashton etc. in Summerham ward.
