Proposed 2.5% increase defeated at full council meeting.
A proposal to limit the increase to only 2.5% was defeated by the combined forces of the Lib Dem/Labour dominated administration last week.

The smaller figure was easily achievable if the ruling parties had the will to do so. Instead, we were treated to the usual rhetoric about how prudent the administration was being and they couldn't possibly ask the public for a penny less.

Hopefully their willingness to spend our money will be remembered when the local elections come along in May.
