What will happen next?
Both Marston and the previous applicant (Marshgate Developments) are bound by a legal agreement to use ALL resonable endeavours to procure the establishment of a medical practice at the site in the local centre.

When an application to discharge the agreement (which would allow the use of the site to change from 'medical' to 'pub') was considered last June, it seemed that very little effort had been made. This time there was evidence of slightly more effort being spent but, in the opinion of the committee, still not enough.

One heartenimg point however, was that my fellow Ward councillor (Cllr. Carbin) voted with me for the deferral; I'm glad to see that he has had a change of heart since June when he did not support the refusal to discharge the agreement. Is there an election coming along by any chance?
