Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

A petition has been set up to protest at the planned change.
We have until 22nd June to convince the government that the County Council proposal to create one huge unitary council for Wiltshire shuld be rejected.

Using this link you need to give your house number and postcode. You will then receive an email with a link in it. Once you click on that link, you'll have signed the petition.

Three of the existing district councils oppose the idea as do all MPs. When the subject was recently discussed at WWDC not one councillor voted in favour of a unitary authority.

I think that everybody is in favour of efficiency, but this idea probably won't be any better than what we already have and it will be far too remote from people.
