Council’s budget proposals and Business Plan to be discussed at cabinet meeting.
The process of Wiltshire Council setting its budget for 2022/23 continues to make progress, with the council’s cabinet due to formally discuss the proposals next week.
The council published its draft budget proposals for 2022/23 on 12 January, as it seeks to bridge a budget deficit of more than £27m while ensuring residents, businesses and communities still get access to vital and high quality services.
The proposals will be presented at the next cabinet meeting on 1 February.
The plans also detail the council’s plan to spend £308m on capital projects in 2022/23, which will maintain and improve the county’s infrastructure.
As part of the formal process for the budget to be confirmed, cabinet will look to agree the proposals, before they are debated and discussed at a meeting of Full Council on 15 February.
The council has also recently published its draft Business Plan 2022-2032, which sets out its mission and its 10-year ambition for the county, and this too will be discussed at the cabinet meeting.
