"As Storm Eunice hits the UK, I wanted to update you on the preparations we are taking to keep the communities we serve safe and warm.
"At Wales & West Utilities we look after the pipes that keep the gas flowing to heat homes and businesses across Wales and south west England.
"Today (Friday) we are focusing on responding to gas emergencies and only doing work essential to keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses. This means that people in your area who may have a new gas connection booked in today may find their work is delayed. Our team will be in touch with them directly to rearrange.
"Most of the gas network is underground, so is reliable and resilient, even in the worst of weather. But if anyone smells gas, has low gas pressure, thinks they have a gas leak or suspects the presence of CO, they should call 0800 111 999 immediately, and we’ll come to keep them safe."
