The multi-storey will be rebuilt as part of plans to improve the town.
Proposals have been put forward for a number of retail, leisure, office and housing schemes within the town. Now local residents will have the chance to meet the developers involved and talk to them about their ambitions for Trowbridge.

Michael Mounde, West Wiltshire Council's economic development portfolio holder, said: "Strengthening Trowbridge's position as the county town will be of benefit to the whole district. We want to have high quality leisure and retail schemes on our doorstep rather than having to travel to Bath, Bristol or Salisbury. I welcome the involvement of these developers at the West Wilts Show, as it will give everyone the chance to see what's being proposed."

The show - a free admission event which is being held in Trowbridge Park on 26, 27 and 28 July - will feature exhibitions from:

- Modus - preferred developer for the Waterside site, which will include a multiplex cinema, bowling alley and new library. A full planning application is expected later this year.

- Parkridge Developments - outline permission is in place for the Shires Gateway scheme, on the old Wincanton site. Detailed designs are currently being worked with a view to starting on site in November 2007, subject to full planning consent.

- Thiyan Investments/Mountain Property Consultants Ltd - full planning permission has been secured for St Stephen's Place (the old Tesco site) and work is due to start there very soon.

- Barton Finch - proposed development for new houses, flats, a supermarket and cafés on the old Ushers site, renamed the Brewery Quarter. A planning application is with the District Council.
