With the warm weather continuing, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is reminding us all to take extra care when enjoying the outdoors.
They are asking that we don’t have a bonfire at home while it’s so dry.
If it’s absolutely necessary, have a garden hose to hand in case it starts to get out of control; site it well away from fencing, trees and property; and never use an accelerant to get it started.
Also, barbecue coals and fire pits stay hot for hours, so douse them with water and don’t dispose of the remnants until you are absolutely sure they are cold.
