Wiltshire Council news from Ernie Clark.
Firstly, may I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too.
I think we all know that 2023 will be ‘interesting’ looking at how many people are striking and the inevitable increase in council tax when the 23/24 budget is being prepared by Wiltshire Council (WC).
On a lighter note, someone has pointed out that Hilperton seems to have a fossil named after it. If you search Astarte Hilpertonensis it gives a little more detail. If anyone knows anything about this topic please let me know!!
HAAG is continuing to plough through various topics but isn’t being helped by WC seeming to hide behind data protection. The parish council has agreed to submit a series of EIR (Environmental Information Regulations 2004) disclosure requests to WC to try and tease more information from WC. What the outcome is, nobody can guess!
The WC offices will be closing over the Christmas/New Year period and the revised hours can be found at www.wiltshire.gov.uk
The waste collection schedule will also be changed during the holiday period. Again, detailed info can be found on the WC web site.
