Beware if you are a 'regular' speeder.
Wiltshire Police has heeded the statistics available via the Community Speed Watch (CSW) scheme.
As a result of the level of speeding in the village, Wiltshire Police has started to deploy police officers, and speed enforcement officers, in Hilperton. Speeding is one of the top matters which the new PCC wishes to see acted upon.
Unlike CSW, when you will receive a letter reminding you to stay within the speed limit, the other two are far more serious. The options are a speed awareness course, a fine and penalty points on your licence, or a trip to the magistrates court with a probable ban as a result.
The 'options' depend on your driving record and the speed recorded by the officer.
Of course, if you stick to a maximum of 30mph, you don't need to worry......unless you are doing 30mph in a 20mph limit that is!
