At the meeting last month, Wiltshire Council (WC) decided to increase the WC precept by 5%. In addition, the police and fire service have increased their precepts too. As mentioned in an earlier e-newsletter, Hilperton Parish Council (HPC) decided on a 0% ‘increase’. If you live in Trowbridge, I think they increased their precept by 10%.
HAAG (Hilperton Area Action Group) continues its good work and has had a meeting with a representative from CPRE. It would seem that a response from the Information Commissioner, regarding the ‘non-answers’ received from WC, will take some months.
There is still no date from WC about when the Local Plan will see the light of day for consultation. But, early April should see the publication of the new ‘5 year land supply’ figure. This has a huge bearing on whether the Hilperton Neighbourhood Development Plan has ‘full’ status or not.
At the March HPC meeting, a suggestion from Ashford Homes about ‘adding’ half-a-dozen bungalows to the Church Farm development will be considered. Meeting details will be on the HPC web site in a week or so.
WC acknowledges that the ‘pavement’ along Trowbridge Road is in a dire state and I hope that a ‘slurry’ topping will be applied soon.
For the coronation, the village hall will be holding a ‘family evening’ on the Friday evening – more details on the village hall web site.
As last year, for the jubilee, HPC will be gifting mugs to children at both the school and pre-school; in addition HPC will be funding bouncy castles etc. at the village hall celebration.
