More rubbish on the towpath?

The Canal & River Trust has come up with a money saving scheme.

From the end of July the two dog waste bins 'in our area' will be removed - saving the C&RT £1,040 a year.  They expect people to follow the Countryside Code and take their rubbish home with them.  Dare I suggest that this is rather too 'rose tinted spectacles'?

Hilperton Parish Council will consider 'sponsoring' the bins at its June meeting but, at £20 a week, the cost seems rather high to empty bins on someone elses property.
