Pub or surgery at Paxcroft Mead?
The issue of land use is to be debated again.
The developers have planning permission for a public house but, as the land is currently designated for a medical centre, it is necessary to amend the legal agreement.
This has been a sore point with the developers for some years, with councillors refusing to vary the agreement so long as there remains the slightest hope of getting a surgery.
Developers say there is no commercial interest in any kind of mainstream medical facility, and have threatened legal action against the council.
When I conducted a survey some time ago, the very strong feeling was that medical facilities were needed more than a pub. If you live on Paxcroft Mead and have an opinion on the this subject please contact me before next Thursday.
If you wish you can attend the meeting and speak; more details will be posted on this site in the next few days.
