The Wiltshire Council Local Plan (up to 2038) has been published and comments can be made until 5.00pm on the 22nd November.
There will be two local ‘consultation’ events. The first is an on-line webinar on Tuesday 10th October between 6.30pm and 8.00pm. This will cover the whole of Wiltshire and you must register with WC for this event. The second is at County Hall on Thursday 12th October between 3.00pm and 7.00pm. This will cover Hilperton and the other villages/town in the Trowbridge area. HAAG (Hilperton Area Action Group) will be attending part of this event to ask relevant questions of the WC spatial planning officers.
HAAG continues its good work and has lodged a complaint with the Information Commissioner regarding the ‘non-answers’ received from Wiltshire Council relating to the ‘first draft’ of the plan released some time back.
The police now seem loathe to send officers out to monitor speeding where the requesting village does not have a Community Speed Watch team. Hilperton does have such a scheme but new volunteers are required. If you could spare approx. one hour a month please contact me.
A planning application which would have ‘closed’ the gap between ‘olde’ Hilperton and Paxcroft Mead was refused recently by the WC Western Area Planning Committee. There were other ‘negatives’ in the application too including the size/design of the house, and the effect it would have on a ‘bat corridor’. The applicant will probably appeal the decision and, if this is the case, it will go before a planning inspector.
