Safety measures for Trowbridge.
Efforts are being made to make Trowbridge safer.
Taxi Marshalls were introduced by the Community Safety Partnership at Castle Place taxi rank on 17 August. A team of two Taxi Marshalls (trained in conflict management) 'supervise' the taxi rank from 11pm to 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. They carry radios linking them to Pubwatch schemes and CCTV monitoring. It is hoped that the Taxi Marshalls will help to reduce violent crime and anti social behaviour.
Work has commenced to implement an alcohol free zone under the Violent Crime Act in Trowbridge. This will be developed in partnership with Trowbridge Town Council and the police in order to target alcohol related anti social behaviour.
