Will the application be withdrawn?
What, exactly, is happening with regard to the application on the A361?
McD seems to be 'playing a game' with Wiltshire Council by submitting 'bits'n'bobs' to the council which don't have all the information required by WC to make a decision. The latest 'bat survey' is a case in point.
What will happen? There would seem to be two options in the short-term. Either McDonald's withdraw their applications (as they did for the scheme in the Tesco car park), or WC refuses the applications.
Whilst you can never say 'Never' where planning is concerned, I honestly cannot see that McD has provided WC with sufficient information and it will be four to six months before acceptable bat information can be provided. Surely WC will not sit on the application for that long?
Of course, McD might 'see the light' (rather than the bats being subjected to light at the present site) and apply to build instead at the West Ashton Road end of Leapgate. That site is at a busy junction and, of course, would be on land already 'allocated' for commercial use. Or is that too obvious a solution?
Time, as they say, will tell.......
